Team GB win Olympic curling medal

Posted on February 17, 2022 | by Nethy Golf

Huge congratulations to Team GB in the mens curling at the Winter Olympics. Team GB (Bruce Mouat, Grant Hardy, Bobby Lammie, and Hammy McMillan) won GB’s first medal of the Games. They won the silver, having had a tough and tense game against the Swedish team. Both teams played well and it all went down to an extra end to decide the final outcome. Nerve-shredding stuff.

Skip Bruce Mouat is a previous member of Abernethy Golf Club and his father, Bob, is a current member. Well done Bruce and team, we’re proud of you.

Posted on February 1, 2022 | by Nethy Golf

We have a defibrillator at our Clubhouse (in the verandah) with 24/7 access. Defibrillators are designed be used by anyone and without training but some prior awareness of how to use them helps give confidence in an emergency. So you might wish to watch the video below from East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Congratulations Harris

Posted on December 21, 2021 | by Nethy Golf

Congratulations to Harris Burke who has been accepted into the Scottish Golf North Training programme. Harris has been part of Abernethy’s  junior coaching programme for some years and has enthusiastically embraced golf over the summer.  He has been seen out practicing on the golf course in all weathers and his hard work has been rewarded with his inclusion in David Torrance’s development squad.

About his inclusion Harris said “I’m so happy to go to coaching with David over the winter. I’ve been learning new techniques and it’s really fun.”

Well done Harris.
