Twa Bridges 2022 Results

Posted on May 2, 2022 | by Nethy Golf

The second Twa Bridges Open was held on Sunday 1st May with 66 players representing 24 Scottish golf clubs taking part. In a reversal of the 2021 competition proceedings started at Carrbridge and concluded at Abernethy, Nethy Bridge. Thank you to all who took part and especially to all those involved in organising and running the event. It was much enjoyed by all.

In the Gents competition, several clubs were represented with Logan Chisholm, Newtonmore, the overall winner, as well as being the best Junior. Gordon MacDonald, Kenmay, was second and Craig MCandlish, Rothes third. In the Ladies, Abernethy were well represented with Sheena Hendrie the overall winner with Jean Gordon and Rona Smith, both also Abernethy, taking 2nd and 3rd places.

The gents winner at Carrbridge was Mark Street, Carrbridge, and Abernethy winner was Peter Rawlinson, Kings Club. The Ladies winner at Carrbidge was Laurna Stobo, Aigas, and at Abernethy it was Shona Rankin, Carrbridge.

Many thanks to our sponsors of the longest drive and nearest the pin competitions, Cairngorm Gin. Mark Ferries and Sheena Hendrie (longest drive) and Charles Legge and Amanda Shepherd (nearest the pin) all took away a bottle of Cairngorm’s product!

" I didn't take up golf until I moved to Nethy Bridge 7 years ago. I was given a very warm welcome by everyone I met at the club and was encouraged to get a handicap. It's a challenging but beautiful course that still tests me every time I play it."
