The Ladies Section played the last of four monthly rounds for Pauline’s Stableford, a 9-hole eclectic format competition. The winner of the final round was Joy Johnston (14 points). The overall winner of the trophy after 4 rounds was a delighted Emma McLeod (25pts).
The Seniors competed for the weekly stableford on Thursday and continuing his steady form throughout the season, winner was Kevin Strathdee (18pts). In 2nd place with a Better Last 6 Holes was John Dingwall (17pts) over 3rd placed Fiona McLaren (17pts).
The weekend was busy with the Gordon Cup, an 18-hole mixed stableford competition being contested on Saturday. The winner with a very steady round was Heather Bantick (37pts) playing below her handicap. 2nd place was won by Stan Reid (36pts) and there was a 3-way tie for 3rd place but with a Better Inward Half it went to Fiona McLaren (35pts). To make the day a sociable family occasion, there was also a fun golf and scavenger hunt organised for Juniors and both events were followed by a meal and quiz held in the clubhouse, with plenty of chat and hilarity.
On Sunday the Bob Douglas Trophy was played for, a Men’s 9-hole stableford. Competitor numbers were low but scoring was high and best of the group was James Brady (21pts), right behind him taking 2nd place was Stan Reid (20pts) and Kevin Strathdee (16) gained 3rd place.
