Due to course maintenance affecting the greens, the scheduled 9-hole mixed competition at the start of the week was adapted to avoid putting on the greens. The objective was for players, using 2 clubs only, to count the strokes it took them to get a ball from tee to anywhere on the green. Heather Bantick was the winer (23 strokes), in 2nd place was Fiona McLaren (24 strokes) and 3rd was Kevin Strathdee (25 strokes).
The Seniors had a good turnout for the weekly ’turn up and play’ Stableford and good scoring too. The honours went to Barry Clark (22 points). 2nd place was decided on a Better Inward Half and went to Charles Legge (18pts) and 3rd place was gained by Joy Johnston (18pts).
At the weekend the Fowler Cup, an 18 hole stableford competition, was played for. With an outstanding score of 46 points, Stan Reid (31) was the outright winner. In 2nd place was Jean Gordon, (30) who also had an excellent score of 40 points. 3rd place was claimed by Steve Gannon (24) also with a below-par score of 38 points.
